Terabyte B.V., trading under the name ReMarkt
Last updated: 19 August 2026
ReMarkt uses cookies and similar techniques to make the webshop work properly and securely. With your consent, we can also use these techniques to measure how the website is used, to remember preferences and to show relevant marketing. In this cookie policy we explain how this works.
Article 1 – Who uses the cookies?
- This website is operated by Terabyte B.V., trading under the name ReMarkt, established at Ellerweg 2, 6037 RS Kelpen-Oler, the Netherlands and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 52945855.
- ReMarkt is responsible for the choice and use of cookies and similar techniques on the website, except where an external party is independently responsible for its own service.
- This cookie policy applies to the ReMarkt websites and country or language versions that refer to this policy.
Article 2 – What are cookies and similar techniques?
- A cookie is a small text file that is stored on or read from your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website.
- Similar techniques include local storage, pixels, scripts and tags. These can store or read information and therefore work in a similar way to cookies for the purposes of this policy.
- Cookies may be placed by ReMarkt itself or by an external service used on our website. These are referred to as first-party and third-party cookies respectively.
- A session cookie usually disappears when you close your browser. A permanent cookie remains until the retention period set for it expires or you delete the cookie.
Article 3 – Which types of cookies do we use?
The website may use the following categories:
- Essential cookies: these are needed for functions such as the shopping basket, checkout, logging in, security, fraud prevention, session management and saving your cookie choice. Without these cookies, the webshop will not work properly or securely.
- Preference cookies: these remember choices you make yourself, such as language, country, display or other settings. Where a preference cookie is not strictly necessary for a function you have requested, we only place it after you have given your consent.
- Analytical cookies: these help us understand how the website is used, which pages work well and where errors or delays occur. Where consent is required, these cookies are only placed after you have made your choice.
- Marketing cookies: these may be used to measure campaigns, make advertising more relevant and recognise visits across websites or devices. These cookies are only placed after you have given your consent.
- Cookies from external content or services: elements such as videos, maps, social media, payment methods or other external functions may use cookies. Non-essential external content is only loaded after you have given your consent. Once you have chosen a payment method, a payment provider may place its own essential cookies and will inform you about this in its own policy.
Article 4 – How do we ask for your choice?
- On your first visit we show a cookie notice before non-essential cookies are placed or read.
- You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies or set them per category. Essential cookies are always on, because the webshop functions you have requested would otherwise not work properly or securely.
- Non-essential categories are not pre-ticked. Accepting and refusing must be clearly and easily available.
- We save your cookie choice so that we can act on it and, where necessary, demonstrate it. This record is itself necessary for managing your consent.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the ‘Cookie settings’ button or link on the website. Withdrawing consent is just as easy as giving it.
Article 5 – Current cookie inventory
- The current cookie inventory forms part of this cookie policy and is available via ‘Cookie settings’ on the website.
- For each cookie or similar technique, this inventory states at least the name, provider, category, purpose, retention period and whether it is a first-party or third-party cookie.
- We update the inventory when a website function, payment method or service provider changes, and we check periodically that it matches the cookies actually being used.
- External parties may change their cookies and retention periods. Where such a party is itself responsible, that party's privacy and cookie policy also applies.
Article 6 – On what basis do we use cookies?
- No consent is required for cookies that are strictly necessary in order to provide the website or communication service you have requested.
- For cookies that are not strictly necessary, we ask for consent in advance where the law requires this. This applies in any event to marketing cookies and to techniques that track visitors across different websites.
- Where personal data is processed via cookies, the legal bases and safeguards of the General Data Protection Regulation also apply. You will find more information in our privacy policy.
Article 7 – What happens if you refuse cookies?
- You can continue to use the essential functions of the webshop if you refuse non-essential cookies.
- Some preference functions, external content, personal recommendations or campaign measurements may then not work, or work only to a limited extent.
- A payment method you choose may forward you to a secure environment operated by a payment provider. The essential techniques of that external environment are covered by the payment provider's policy.
- If you delete cookies in your browser or use a different device or browser, we cannot always recognise your earlier choice and the cookie notice may appear again.
Article 8 – How long are cookies kept?
- The retention period differs from cookie to cookie and is shown in the current cookie inventory.
- Session cookies are in principle deleted when you close your browser. Permanent cookies remain until the period set for them expires or you delete them via your browser. After withdrawal, we stop the non-essential use for which you no longer give consent.
- For cookies that we manage ourselves, we do not set a longer retention period than is reasonably necessary. We review the cookies used and their retention periods periodically.
- Data that an external party lawfully received before you withdrew your consent may still be kept in accordance with the applicable statutory retention period and that party's own privacy policy.
Article 9 – Managing cookies via your browser
- In addition to the ReMarkt cookie settings, you can view, block or delete cookies via your browser. The method differs from browser to browser and from device to device.
- If you block all cookies in your browser, essential functions such as logging in, the shopping basket or checkout may work less well.
- Browser settings do not automatically delete all data that an external party lawfully received earlier. For a complete request, also use the privacy rights available at ReMarkt or at the party concerned.
Article 10 – Personal data and your rights
- Cookie data may be personal data, for example where it can be linked to an IP address, device, account or customer profile.
- You may have the right, among other things, to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Our privacy policy sets out what rights you have and how you can submit a request.
Article 11 – Changes
- We may amend this cookie policy when the website, cookies, service providers or legal rules change.
- The latest version is available on our website and states the date it was last updated. In the event of a significant change, we will ask for your choice again where necessary.
- The current cookie inventory in the cookie settings may change more often than this policy text, for example when a technically essential cookie is given a different name or retention period.
